A downloadable game
The Weave is a new retro game for the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis.

The game is based on the classic graphic adventure Loom, released in 1990 by Lucasfilm Games (later known as LucasArts). It takes place a hundred years after the ending of the original game.
The project is currently in its development phase. The game engine is mostly complete, and the graphics are being replaced with hand-edited, pixel-by-pixel artwork.
As in Loom we aim for an interesting story, well-written characters, and a game you can finish and enjoy in a weekend -no cat-like reflexes needed-.
A first playable version of Act One, with both English and Spanish text, is (hopefully) expected to be released by the end of 2025. The game will be free, and the source code will be available on GitHub.
Features will include:
- Cinematic cutscenes with English and Spanish dialogues.
- Puzzle solving with magic spells and interactable objects.
- Many magic patterns with musical notes you will unlock during the adventure.
- Numerous new characters, guilds and locations.
- Spells combat with various enemies.
- Game engine created from scratch in C language using the SGDK development kit
- Tech demo now available !

The Weave es un nuevo juego retro para la Sega Mega Drive / Genesis.
El juego está basado en la clásica aventura gráfica Loom, lanzada en 1990 por Lucasfilm Games (luego conocida como LucasArts). Tiene lugar cien años después del final del juego original.
El juego está en fase de desarrollo. El motor del juego está bastante terminado, y los gráficos gráficos están siendo sustituidos por otros editados a mano, píxel a píxel.
Al igual que en Loom, nuestro objetivo es una historia interesante, personajes bien escritos y un juego que puedas terminar y disfrutar en un fin de semana (sin que necesites tener reflejos felinos).
Se espera que una primera versión jugable del primer acto, con textos en inglés y español, sea publicada (con suerte) a finales de 2025. El juego será gratuito y el código fuente estará disponible en GitHub.
Las características incluirán:
- Escenas cinemáticas con diálogos en inglés y español.
- Resolución de acertijos con hechizos mágicos y objetos interactuables.
- Muchos patrones mágicos con notas musicales que desbloquearás durante la aventura.
- Numerosos nuevos personajes, gremios y localizaciones.
- Combate de hechizos con varios enemigos.
- Motor de juego creado desde cero en lenguaje C utilizando el kit de desarrollo SGDK.

Of course! But unfortunately, the artists who have shown interest in the project end up abandoning it when they realize it will be offered for free. And since it’s a fangame based on a title from a major company, I’m not considering any other option.

I can handle sega megadrive hardware limitations(i can put backgrounds and sprites on the screen each with different palletes using sgdk, and have aseprite editor). How can i help?

Spellcasting is very clever, and although you could use a mouse interface like loom(with sega mouse), i´m glad you didn´t because not many people have it... (scooby doo on genesis is quite burdensome without a mouse)
